I made my own Barrrr-be-cue Sauce

Yep. They just don't have it here. Weird. Mine was ok. It was better on my BBQ chicken pizza.

Cro-to-the ATIA Vactia is over...

Well, the fun 3 weeks of Domagoj's vacation is over. Tear. We just realized we didn't stay in the same place more than 3 nights in a row ! We were here and there. Playing in the waterfalls, not to mention fishing, and swimming, we camped several times, had great dinners with friends, went hiking, caught up on sleep, a little bit of shopping, some frustrating cooking, ate lots of sladoled (ice cream), worked in the garden, picked LOTS of berries, went to the zoo, went bike riding, rafting, hung out with his parents, and my favorite his Grandma, I also met a whole bunch of other family members, I even got to meet his neighbor's horses, pigs and cow (awesome!) ... there's not a whole lot that we didn't do. (and that picture of Domagoj on the truck is actually one of his many modeling pictures I learned as a truck drove by with the advertisement STILL on it! ha ha ha how funny! I can't help but think of the walk my kids this year made imitating his model walk! In case you didn't figure it out, he is the one in orange! ah ha ha!)
D leaves for Dubrovnik tomorrow, and I head to an island called Hvar Tuesday (Utorak) morning for a week with his sister and cousin... it will be my version of Girls weekend this year, just not with the one and only girls of the infamous girl's weekend.
My brand new computer is finally going to the shop tomorrow, hope they have good news (and by good, I mean, fix this darn thing now!!!!)
I am kinda missing the new school year. I keep thinking about my classroom and how I should be getting it ready. An old teacher of mine, one whom everyone, including myself, really loved passed away this weekend. Just thinking about the impact that teachers have. Wow. Amazing opportunities to change lives. Go get 'em my old buddies! Super kick 'em! :)
Not to mention, let's hear a lil old 'USA chant for out Olympic fellas!
And has anyone read about the Georgia/ Russia conflicts. It just breaks my heart!

July 28th...opps

Ok so, I realized that blogging is not my strength. I have been incredibly busy, and just forgotten to update this, so here's my second shot at this.
Domagoj has finally started his vacation. He has been working non stop since March, literally, so on July 18th he was given his vacation. He got a whole month, which is amazing. We have been in Zagreb at his parent's. His mom is an amazing cook. It feels like Thanksgiving dinner every time we sit down for a meal. Ridiculous food. We just went biking around the city yesterday. I seriously love this city. They have everything here. The big city feel, yet safe, and nature just a few minutes outside the city, not to mention the parks and lakes within the city. Shopping is good, just a little pricey, but then again it all seems that way compared to back home.
Day before last we went hiking with a few of his friends in the cute town on the outskirts of the city. I love all the vegetation around here. Apples, blackberries, plums, tomatoes, corn, etc, etc. so many things people grow and then some just growing wild. You never have to worry about being hungry. Just look around you and ummm yummy fresh apple just waiting for you to eat it!  I think I finally learned to like arranging flowers. I decided I like arranging flowers as long as I get to first go and pick the ones that I want to work with. That is much more enjoyable. We were at his families' vacation house, a very special place, and when we came back to his parent's house in the city I think I managed to bring back enough flowers to put a bouquet in every room. Fabulous.
Let's see what else is new. We are going to his Grandma's house in about an hour. She lives a little less than an hour away. Amazing little town arranged around this river that flows through, and has waterfalls everywhere that you can go swimming in. It is such a weird concept for me to grasp to be able to get out of the water and not feel all sticky and gross afterwards. I think I can learn to like the mountains and rivers concept. Don't get me wrong I love the beach, but this is quite fabulous as well. :)
Ok, I think that about covers it for my little quicky update. More to come. I will get better at updating this!

Croatia Craziness !!! Bok! (Hi)

I made it! I am here! I am safe and having fun! So much fun that it just hasn't stopped! Yesterday was the first day that I came close to "stopping," not really, more slowing down today. I have a few hours to do some things that I want to do. I've been kayaking and helping Domagoj with random work! That boy has a HUGE work ethic, not to mention their company has been going none stop!
We were on the island of Vis, Croatia all of last week. This is a picture of the Modra Spligja, The Blue Cave. My momma and I checked it out last summer, guess I just couldn't get enough of it. :) I met D's friends Gaba and Gion. They are from Switzerland, and I just adore them. They have been such a breath of fresh air. Speaking of FRESH AIR.... HANNAH came to visit me! We had such a fabulous time on Vis! I just love that girl! However, she just made me realize how much I miss my gals at home! Awww, my first year without attending our annual Girl's Weekend. Tear.
Besides that, not a whole lot going on. Oh, except, I had quite the experience at the grocery store yesterday. It was my first errand to run on my own. Let's just say my lack of Croatian put me in a corner and I went in the car and cried. I was so frustrated! No big deal, just kinda funny now that I think about it. I have almost mastered the art of driving stick shift as well. I stall out every once in a while. What I just really hate about it is having to reverse going up hill! It makes me so freaking nervous! I am getting it though. Just don't let your children run wild in the streets, you never know if I'll be out and about! Muah ha ha ha!

My Boo's Wedding & Palm Beach Crew

Another one bites the dust! My little Boo is all grown up. It is now Mr. & Mrs. Jason Flaherty. Craziness! Amazing how time flies! It was a beautiful wedding and she was one HOT bride! Congrats my loves! I love coming back to Palm Beach to see all my beloved friends! Great hot tub talks with Meggie Moo. Love that she sleeps with a box cutter when she is living alone for protection, you get 'em Megs! The lovely Lady Laura was a highlight as always, love doing anything with that girl! We'll have fun when she moves to Australia with me next summer! Muah ha ha! Eu te amo, Helena! Long time no see. I know that she will do great with her job transfer. Not to mention that I know she will also make one smokin' hot bride in October, wish I could be there. Whitaker was a life saver helping me last minute with my make-up at the wedding, and she was quite the trooper if I must say so myself. Wink wink. Xenia is all grown up! OMG! Hooray for size 11 ! That a baby! Papa J and I had a nice lunch date. You just gotta love that guy, sweet Papa J. And blast from the past, my old roomie and friend, Amie, was at the wedding. I just love that girl, she hasn't changed a bit! I trust things will continue to go well for her in Colorado! Coach, Peter, and I went out for breakfast one morning. He still hasn't given me that pumpkin muffin he subconsciously made just for me though. Jackie Chan, love of my life, was able to hang out for a night, ohhhhh how I miss and just love that girl. Its been too long. I even ran into the infamous Isom at O' Sheas. That was a treat. Found out he is famous, a State Champ Football Coach. Tooter and his fun crew met up with us for a drink. I just might have recruited a travel buddy kudos to Tooter! Tooter and Aaron will be boxing in Cali together, Lord bless 'em. Ahh, I just love my life. Love my friends.

Momma Mia's Days off

My adventurous momma and I went on a little road trip/ sea excursion to Caladesi Island last week. It was a nice place, not a favorite, but fun to get away to. The water was gorgeous and the company quite fabulous. She took off two days of work so we had a nice long 4 day weekend together in which we did lots of fun things together here and there. Best of all, just getting to be together.
